Balance and Coordination Exercises

These types of exercises require an external force to cause resistance on the skeletal muscle leading to a contraction. Some examples of resistance exercises include bicep curls, tricep curls and the bench press. Resistance exercises lead to an increase in cognitive functioning. Cognitive functioning is the ability to retain information, create memories as well as the ability to carry out any task.

These types of exercise require the use of oxygen to meet the demands of energy consumption. Some exaxmples of aerobic exercise include running, swimming, hiking and skiing. Aerobic exercises help the brain by increasing oxygen supply to the brain as well as increase neuroplasticity. Neuroplascticty is the brains ability to create and organize neural connections.

These types of exercises require control over your body as well as moving two or more body parts efficiently and under controll. Some examples of these exerecises include walking across a balance beam, Tai-Chi and Yoga. Coordination training helps increase higher levels of cogntive processing. Higher levels of coginitive processing are things like information processing and your attention span.
